Instructors for the Organization Development Certificate at Portland State University are OD practitioners from the Portland metro area, including Vancouver and southwestern Washington, and Salem, Oregon, communities. They are selected for their knowledge of current organization development practices and their demonstrated teaching experience and passion for sharing what they have learned with others.
Susan Anderson is a leader with Hitachi Consulting’s Portland office and has over eight years of organizational change management consulting experience. Ms. Anderson is viewed as a thought leader in both organizational change management and project management, and she brings these two skills together to affect positive and lasting change in the organizations in which she serves. Throughout her career, Susan has helped her clients through a variety of change programs, including merger and integration, re-organization, systems development and implementation, and organizational effectiveness efforts, in addition to leading teams and serving as a thought leader for Hitachi Consulting. A recognized mentor and teacher, she has served as a guest lecturer and adjunct professor at Portland State University for several years.
Laurie Lemieux has more than 20 years experience as a training and
human resource professional and leader. Most recently she served as vice
president of organizational development and human resources for
the United Way of the Columbia-Willamette. For the last 10 years, she has ran a private practice
in organizational development.
Prior to joining United Way, Ms. Lemieux held various leadership positions
at Legacy Health System and the Mayo Clinic. She earned her bachelor's degree
from the University of Kansas and her MSOD/HRM (Master of Science in Organizational
Development and Human Resource Management) from Johns Hopkins University.
She is now pursuing further study in "Decision Science" at Stanford
University. She welcomes you

Larry
Ferguson is a senior consultant with Compass Consulting
Group, an organizational development firm that partners with senior managers
to identify gaps in employee performance and customer service, and then assist
with initiatives to close those gaps. He has over 18 years experience in
management and leadership development with a special focus on performance
management and data collection services (surveys, focus groups, one-on-one
interviews). During his professional career, he has managed and
participated in revamping three company performance management systems
as a consultant or internal trainer. He has worked
on an internal and external basis with Legacy Health System, Cascade
General Shipyard, Microsoft, ADP, Brim Healthcare, Corillian, and Regence
BlueCross/BlueShield. Mr. Ferguson earned his master's degree in social work from
Portland State University, focusing on group dynamics and interpersonal
communications.
Rand Schenk specializes in organization development services that include organization assessments, change management, strategic planning, group facilitation, team and leadership development, and executive coaching. Over the past 20 years, he has worked in a variety of settings, including public education, outdoor recreation and education, and inpatient psychiatry. Mr. Schenk is known for his ability to establish strong relationships based on mutual trust and respect, and for helping leaders gain new insights that motivate the right actions needed to achieve the right results. He is a member of the Oregon chapter of the Organizational Development Network (ODN). For nine years he served as a senior organizational development consultant and coach at Intel. Prior to joining Intel, Mr. Schenk consulted at Duke University, where he led a large-scale change initiative, and Burroughs Wellcome (now part of GlaxoSmithKline). He holds two graduate degrees in the behavioral sciences from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Sarah Stebbins, Ph.D., C.P.C., has over 20 years experience developing and delivering training programs, and has designed over 100 workshops and seminars, and facilitated teams. As a coach and facilitator, she is highly skilled at coaching individuals and groups toward success. She is experienced in coaching executives and leaders with managing organizational change. Her work is conducted in diverse settings: public and private sector organizations, colleges and universities, and nonprofit organizations. She has held adjunct faculty positions with The University of Portland and Washington State University. Her current work includes strategic planning for a large county health department, high-level leadership curriculum design and delivery for 150 community college managers and developing and implementing large-scale change management strategies for a large, complex municipal commission. In addition to her consulting, Dr. Stebbins is a Senior Certified Career Coach for Lee Hecht Harrison, an international career and leadership development firm.
Dan Vetter, MS, is president of Vetter Solutions, an independent consulting firm specializing in instructional design, training delivery, and process improvement. Mr. Vetter invested 12 years working in training and development and continuous improvement at a Fortune 500 company in Omaha, Nebraska, prior to moving to Portland. He has taught in the human performance improvement programs at the University of Nebraska and Drake University as well as serving as president for the Cascadia Chapter of ASTD.
