MeetingPortland State University's certificate in Organization Development provides students with tools, techniques, and practical experiences to become more effective change leaders. Our changing business climate has had a profound impact on the way organizations operate. As professionals who manage these organizations, we need to understand change, how people react to it, and how to manage it to our organizations' benefit.

Our Students Explore:

  • Understanding and planning change in organizations
  • Adult-learner characteristics and their role in the change process

Our Instructors Are Selected for:

  • Their knowledge of current organization development practices
  • Their experience as change agents with other organizations, both internal and external

Each course provides the perfect balance of tools, techniques, and best practices that can be used in the workplace immediately. Theory and resources help the practitioner understand what is really going on. In addition, each class is designed and programmed with simulations that allow students to practice these skills in a low-stakes environment.
