Now in its second year, the Internet Marketing Conference at Portland State has quickly grown into one of the most important events for those business leaders and marketing professionals looking to stay up to speed on the latest in online development. Whether you are a beginner and need to interact with your online customers or a seasoned professional who wants to hear the latest trends in SEO, PPC, analytics, and Social Media, several tracks will allow you to learn at your own pace.
The Internet Marketing Conference will feature presentations by Portland's interactive experts, including keynote speaker, Renny Gleeson, Global Director of Interactive Strategies from Wieden+Kennedy, and Bryan Rhoads, Intel’s Digital Strategist. Four tracks with speakers focused on current digital marketing trends will follow. Attendees will also enjoy the opportunity to have their websites reviewed by experts in a site lab. The conference will conclude with a holiday networking event including various digital marketing associations.
"PSU's Internet Marketing Conference is the single best opportunity for Portland-area digital marketing professionals," say Dennis Hahn, CEO ID Branding. "You're going to have to go to San Francisco or New York to get anything like this."
"The Internet Marketing Conference offers area professionals an opportunity to sharpen their online marketing skills," says Kent Lewis, CEO Anvil Media Inc. "Past students in my Search Engine Marketing workshop have been able to turn their insights into instant marketing consulting income."
Background and Additional Opportunities
In 2008 several digital marketing specialists and agencies like Anvil Media and ID Branding joined with Portland State University to offer a conference focused on Internet marketing for the Portland business community. The conference hit a nerve as companies, small business owners, and marketing students packed the suites of the School of Extended Studies to learn about Web marketing and social media.
Topics covered in the conference are further explored and carried across the year through intensive classes. The popular Digital Marketing Strategies five-class certificate runs twice a year through Portland State's Multimedia Professional Program, part of the Professional Development Center in the School of Extended Studies. Furthermore, a quarterly breakfast series is free to the community and features additional digital-marketing experts.
