We have an interesting event that gives you
an opportunity to focus on what everyone does every day;
Projects and Programs!
Managing
Projects & Programs Conference Thursday,
July 17 This year the planners have put together a
very compelling agenda. Besides three interesting tracks
on creativity in projects, people skills, and PMI, there
is a special focus on project work in the health care
industry. Consider the following presentation titles.
- Business and Leadership Challenges in
Implementing Electronic Health Records at OHSU
- Implementing Electronic Health Records at OHSU:
Lessons Learned from a Successful Project
- Planning and Equipping a New Hospital
(Legacy) from the Ground Up
- Working with Critical Vendors to Ensure Success: A
Case Study in Deploying a Physician Practice
Management System at Providence Health &
Services

The
School of Extended Studies has moved to the Market
Square building at 1515 SW 5th Ave.
All of
us are excited about being able to offer an improved
and integrated customer experience. (That's right,
universities talk like that too!) All of our
classrooms now will be located right outside our
office door - no more trudging across campus or across
town to serve the needs of students or instructors. We
will be right here to greet you every night! Most of
our classrooms even have large windows so you will be
able to glance out at the starry nights and twinkling
city lights (but only on breaks!)
I said
integrated because all programs will be represented,
so if you have an interest in any School of Extended
Studies program, everyone is right here to serve. Do
you have a high school or college age child interested
in independent studies? Ask at our front desk they can
help!
Our new location is at the intersection
of multiple mass transit paths; streetcar, MAX, bus
and cars are also welcome in the parking lot beneath
our building! Safe easy access from the parking garage
to the classrooms.

Talk to Lori
to discuss your professional development goals.
"I talk to folks every day who are not sure what
their next step should be. Some have plenty of advanced
degrees, but need to stay fresh with ideas and
professional contacts. Others are thinking about an
advanced degree and are not sure the plunge is worth it
yet. Still others are climbing a ladder and need to show
focus on their resume. Opportunities for more
education in healthcare management continue to increase,
so the decision making process is more and more
difficult. I thoroughly enjoy helping people make
informed decisions. Even more, I like to see the success
of individuals after they have chosen the right
education path." Call her at 503/725-5848.
