The Professional Development Center of Portland State University continues to respond to Oregon’s professional education needs. The Healthcare Management Certificate is designed to meet the training needs of current and emerging managers, and executives in healthcare.

We offer two certificate programs; the Healthcare Management Certificate and the Healthcare Management: Leadership Certificate. Each course is taught by senior-level executives currently working in healthcare.

The Healthcare Management Certificate is offered three ways: noncredit, undergraduate credit, and graduate-level credit. It is built in six courses that can be taken in any order. Once students have completed each course, they have a well-rounded understanding of the current challenges regarding quality and efficiency, financial management, cultural competency, managing and leading, technology, and economics and policy.

The Healthcare Management: Leadership Certificate is offered in response to senior executives seeking an opportunity to work with seasoned experts on specific areas more commonly met in an advanced management position. The four noncredit courses are: Healthcare Management Ethics, Strategy, Public Policy, and Leadership.

Our recent press release on this exciting new certificate program was picked up by the Business Journal
